William Haywood & Henrietta Green Marriage Bond

NORTH CAROLINA, MONTGOMERY COUNTY

Know all men by these presents, that we, William Haywood and Miles 
Haywood are held and firmly bound unto the State of North Carolina, in 
the full sum of One Thousand Dollars, current money, to be paid to the 
State of North Carolina, for the payment of which, well and truly to be 
made and done, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors, and 
administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents, sealed 
with our seals, and dated the 15th day of January 1862.

The condition of the above obligation is such that the above-bounden 
William Haywood hath made application for a License for Marriage, to 
be celebrated between him and Henrietta Green of the county aforesaid; 
now in case it shall not hereafter appear that there is any lawful cause or 
impediment to obstruct said marriage, then the above obligation to be 
void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.
