Persons or organizations desiring to use this material for non-commercial purposes, MUST obtain the written consent of the contributor, OR the legal representative of the submitter, and contact the listed USGenWeb archivist with proof of this consent. ******************************************************************* **************************************************************** John Bowden from Robert Green (deed) This indenture made this sixth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty eight between Robert Green Jr. of the county of Montgomery and state of North Carolina of the one part and John Bowden of the County of Richmond and state aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said Robert Green hath and for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars in hand paid by the said Bowden the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath bargained sold conveyed and confirmed unto the said Bowden a tract of land situate in the County of Richmond by Buffelow Creek and bounded as follows: Beginning at a sweet gum standing on the bank of said creek said Bowden corner and runs north about 125 poles to a stake the corner of the lost of land laid off for the minor heirs of Claiborn Green, deceased, thence with a line north sixty-five East to a line of the heirs of Green Hogan dec'd, thence to with that line south 46 East to said Bowden lines of his Harhort(??) tract of land thence with a line of that tract south eighty west forty poles to his corner five thence with his other line round to the said creek thence down the various courses of the said creek to the beginning containing sixty-eight acres which the above described land and premises with all and every of its improvements and assignments thereunto belonging to the said Robert will warrant and forever defend unto him the said Bowden his heirs and assigns forever free and clear of myself and my heirs and from the lawful claim or claims of all heirs whatsoever as witnesseth whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this day and year above written signed sealed and confirmed in the presence of B.
