Allen to Leonard Cranford Deed This Indenture made this the 27th March 1882 between James G. Allen of first part and Leonard Cranford of the second part both of the County of Montgomery and State of North Carolina. Witnesseth that the said James G. Allen for and in consideration of the sum of Twenty five Dollars to him in hand first by the said Leonard Cranford the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged does bargain and sell a certain tract of Land in the County and state aforesaid containing One hundred acres situated on Back Mountain. Beginning at a Long Gum in the side of said Mountain L. Dennis & Krens Corner four hickerys pointers and runs SO 27 WT 150 fro to William Morris line corner stake there WT 28 fro to his corner pine two black jack pointers on the end of said Mountain in there with his line 272 fro to a gum comes on Joseph Hurley’s line 5 post oak & 2 pine pointers then with his line ET 40 fro to his corner ash in a branch 2 Maples Mountain oak and gum pointers the SO 26 ET 145 fro to the beginning to have and to hold and the said James G. Allen will forever warrant and defend the said title hereby conveyed to the said Leonard Cranford his heirs and assignors.
