H. Sanders State of North Carolina Montgomery County This indenture made this the 28th day of December 1849 between Luke Sanders of the one part and A. H. Sanders of the other part both of the County & State aforesaid, that the sd Luke Sanders for the natural & good affection I have toward my son A. H. Sanders I give & bequeath to the sd A. H. Sanders a certain negro slave named Pleasant age about eight years old valued at two hundred Dollars to have and to hold to his use & to his heirs Exrs or Admin. forever and I the sd Luke Sanders do warrant and forever defend this right and title of sd slave against all claims or claims, Given under my hand and seal In the presence of P.
