Town Monthly Minutes Page 109 June 5, 1911 The Commissioners for the town of Troy met in regular session, date above written and the following members were present: R. T. Poole, Chairman} commissioner J. W. Benson} commissioner J. C. Hurley} commissioner W. A. Cochran, Mayor Z. F. Cranford, Marshall Minutes of Meeting of board held May 16, 1911 Read and approved Ordered by the board that special tax levy be the same as last year or the year before to be placed on minutes in regular (unreadable.) Ordered, by the board, that C. J. Poole be appointed to get up tax list of the property for both graded school and toran tax. There being no further business, the board adjourned. J. C. Hurley, Secy & Treas. On motion duly seconded and carried it was ordered by the board that a particular tax of 20 cents on the one hundred dollars assessed valuation on property and sixty cents on each taxable poll be laid and levied on all persons and subjects of taxation within the Corporate limits of the town of Troy, N.C. by virtue of the power vested in said board by the town charter to lay and levy said particular tax and poll tax. On motion duly seconded and carried it was ordered by the board that a particular tax of 35 cents on the one hundred dollars assessed valuation on property and ninety cents on each taxable poll be laid and levied on all persons and subjects of taxation within the limits of The Troy Graded School district according to boundaries laid down public laws 1903 Chapter 441, Sec. 1 and by virtue of the power vested in said board in said Public laws Sec. to lay and levy the said particular tax and poll tax.
