M.H. Stutts Marriage
State of North Carolina, Montgomery County.
TO ANY Regular Minister of the Gospel having the cure of souls, 
of whatever Denomination; Or to any Justice of the Peace of said 
County:
You, or any of you, are hereby authorized and empowered To 
Celebrate and solemnize the Rites of matrimony between
M.H. Stutts, son of John Stutts and Nancy Stutts
AND
Palestine G. Lewis, daughter of John Lewis and Wincey Lewis
And join them together as Man and Wife.
Witness, P.H. Morris, Register of Deeds for said County at Office 
in Troy, the 22nd day of December 1868, and in the 93rd year of 
our Independence.

THIS CERTIFIES THAT M.H. Stutts son of John Stutts and 
Nancy Stutts, and Palestine G. Lewis, daughter of John Lewis and 
Wincy Lewis were, by me, united in the Bonds of Matrimony, on 
the 22 day of December A.D. 1868 conformably to the Ordinance 
of God and the Laws of the State.
