State of North Carolina, Montgomery County.
TO ANY Regular Minister of the Gospel having the cure of souls, 
of whatever Denomination; Or to any Justice of the Peace of said 
County:
You, or any of you, are hereby authorized and empowered To 
celebrate and solemnize the Rites of Matrimony between
Nathan Thompson, son of Noah Thompson and Tabitha 
Thompson
AND
Diza P. Bruton daughter of William Bruton and Caroline Bruton
And join them together as Man and Wife.
Witness, P.H. Morris Clerk of our said Court of Pleas and 
Commissioners at Office in Troy, the 22nd day of September 
1868, and in the 93rd year of our Independence.

THIS CERTIFIES THAT Nathan Thompson son of Noah 
Thompson and Taletha Thompson and Diza Bruton, daughter of 
William Bruton and Caroline Bruton were, by me, united in the 
Bonds of Matrimony, on the 22 day of September A.D. 1868, 
conformably to the Ordinance of God and the Laws of the State.
