C. being weak in body but of sound mind and memory and calling to mind the uncertainty of human life do make and publish this as my last will and testament with a view of settling my temporal affairs, and disposing of the property I have in this world. First I will and bequeath to my daughter Dianna Bruton out of my money on hand and due to me the sum of Three Hundred Dollars to her and her heirs forever. Secondly I will and bequeath to my daughter Palestine Parker the sum of One Hundred and Twenty five dollars to her and her heirs forever. Thirdly I will and bequeath unto my grandson Montford Stokes Parsons the sum of Twenty five dollars to assist him in his education to him and his heirs forever. Fourthly, I give and bequeath unto my grandson Seaborn Jones Parsons the sum of Twenty five dollars to aid in his education to him and his heirs forever. Fifthly I will and bequeath unto my son James PARSONS and to each of my daughters Sarah Callicott, Nancy Parker and Susan Megginson one dollar each to them and their heirs forever. Sixthly I give and bequeath to the children or heirs of my deceased daughter Polly Parker one dollar to them and their heirs forever. And it is hereby declared to be my further will and desire that the balance of my money and debts due me after paying the Doctor’s bill out of the same and repairing and enclosing the graves in a proper manner shall be equally divided between my two daughters Diana Bruton and Palestine Parker. I hereby nominate and appoint James Bruton my executor to this my last will and testament as witness my hand and seal signed, sealed and delivered this 22nd day of January 1849.
