STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA  COURT OF PLEAS & QUARTER SESSION   MOORE COUNTY
October Term, 1857

JOHN BAKER and wife et al
        vs.
JOHN B. COLE et al

Petition to divide real estate

In this case, it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that JAMES COLE is 
not a resident of this State, it is therefore ordered by the Court that 
publication be made in the North Carolina Argus, a newspaper published at 
Fayetteville, notifying the said non-resident defendant, to be and appear at 
our next Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions to be held for the County of Moore 
at the Court House in Carthage on the fourth Monday of January next. Then and 
there to plead, answer or demur to this petition filed. Otherwise, judgment 
will be taken pro confesso and the matter heard ex parte as to him. Witness A. 
H. McNEILL, Clerk of the said Court at office in Carthage, on the fourth 
Monday of October, A. D. 1857.
