DAVID COOK et al Petition for Settlement It appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that the defendants, LYDIA NORVELL, MARTHA and CONLY HORNSLEY, and WILLIAM P. COOK, are not inhabitants of this state: it is therefore ordered by the Court that publication be made for six successive weeks in the Patriot, a newspaper printed in Greensboro, that unless the said Defendants appear at our next Court to be held for the County of Moore in the Court House at Carthage on the 4th Monday in January 1846 , then and there to plead, answer, or demure to this petition, judgment will be taken pro confesso and heard ex parte as to them.
