April Term, 1857

JANE SHIELDS
   vs.
ARCHIBALD SHIELDS

Petition for Dower

In this case, it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that EVERETT 
MANESS and wife, LUCINDA, are non-residents of this State. It is therefore 
ordered by the Court that publication be made for six successive weeks in the 
North Carolina Argus, a newspaper published in the Town of Fayetteville, 
notifying the said non-residents to be and appear at our next Court of Pleas & 
Quarter Sessions to be held for the County of Moore in the Court House at 
Carthage, on the fourth Monday in July instant. Then and there to plead, 
answer or demur to this petition filed. Otherwise judgment will be taken pro 
confesso and the matter will be heard ex parte as to them. Witness, A. H. 
McNEILL, Clerk of the said Court at Office in Carthage on the fourth Monday of 
April A. D. 1857.
