LEONARD STATTS 
    vs.
SUSANNAH STATTS

Petition for Divorce

In this case, it appearing to the Court that the defendant, SUSANNAH STATTS, 
resides beyound the limit of this State: It is therefore ordered by the Court 
that publication be made for six successive weeks in the N.C. Argus, a 
newspaper published in the Town of Fayetteville, notifying the said defendant 
to be and appear at our next Court of Superior Law to be held for Moore County 
at the Court House in Carthage on the fourth Monday in November next. Then and 
there to plead, answer  or demur to this petition filed. Otherwise, judgment 
will be taken pro confesso and the matter will be heard ex parte as to them. 
Witness GEORGE S. COLE, Clerk of the said Court at office on this first Monday 
before the last Monday in August A.D. 1855.
