ITEMS OF STATE NEWS

In tearing down an old house on the Morrison place near Jackson Springs, Moore 
county, a few days since, K.M. McCaskill found twenty-seven Spanish silver 
dollars, wrapped in a handerchief and secreted between the walls.  Some of 
them bore the date 1717.  The handkerchief was so old that when the boards 
were removed the money rolled out, says the Carthage Blade.
