See Administrator's notice by J.M. Monger. The Methodist Sunday School had a Xmas Tree last night. Mr. Kinnic Fry, of Raleigh, is visiting relatives and friends in town. The Tyson & Jones Buggy Co's shops are shut down for the holidays. Mr. Canley Stutts returned from Norfolk, Va, last Wednesday night. Mr. G. H. Humber returned last Wednesday night from Trinity College. Miss Emma Lee Muse returned from G.F. College last Wednesday night. Rev. M. McG. Shields and family, of Roxboro, are visiting relatives and friends here. Mess. Roy Ritter and Geo. W. McNeill returned Thursday night from Wake Forest College. The Blade office will be closed this week and will not resume work until next Tuesday, Jan. 1st, 1895. Court adjourned last Friday. There were only four jury cases tried during the week, the most important of which was the case of Hamer vs. Muse, which involved several hundred acres of land. The plaintiff won the case. Mr. R.Q. Fry returned home Friday night. Mr. J.C. Larkin, of Goldsboro, is here for the holidays. Mr. W. R. clegg, of Henderson, is here for the holidays. Mr. T. B. King is visiting his home in Wilmington this week. Mr. and Mrs. V. F. Kelly left Saturday on a visit to Wilmington. Mr. C. O. Mainor and family left on a visit to Durham Saturday. The Baptist Sunday School will hae a Xmas Tree Tuesday night. Mrs. D. R. McIver and sister left Saturday on a visit to their home in the country. The ladies' Oyster Supper Friday night was quite a success, socially and financially. Rev. W. S. campbell, of Milton, N.C., will preach in the Presbyterian church next Sunday. Prof. Snipes, of the Carthage Academic Institute, left Saturday on a visit to his home in Chatham. Rev. J.J. Douglass returned from Wake Forest college Thursday night and will spend the holidays at home with his father's family. Miss Annie Clegg's school for girls closed last week, with a concert saturday night, which was very creditable alike to the teacher and pupils. Rev. Mr. McCullen arrived Friday night and is domiciled at the parsonage. He preached to a large congregation Sunday, morning and night. Mr. H. A. Black, who figured as a prominent political during the late campaign, was committed to jail last Sunday by U.S. commissioner A.W. Campbell, on a charge of illicit distilling.
