The Morning Star, Wilmington, NC – Fri 1/17/1890
Carthage Blade:
                   - Died, on Mr. A. M. Mc-
Neill’s plantation, last week, Ben Per-
son (colored), aged 103 years.  He was a
former slave of Gen. Ben. Person.  Mr.
McNeill says there is no doubt about his
being that old.
