Wed. July 18,  1827   North Carolina Journal
   DIED, on the 4th inst., at his residence near Carthage, Moore County, 
JOSEPH SEAWELL, ESQ., aged 84 years and six months. MR. SEAWELL was a native 
of Virginia, a descendant of an ancient and respectable family, who were among 
the early emigrants from England, and who settled on the Chesapeake Bay, not 
far from Norfolk, and gave rise to the name of the place (Seawell's Point), 
which still bears the family name. -- Observer
