I, Jacob Stutts of Moore County, North Carolina being sick and weak of body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be to God for the same, thereto calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men to dye [sic] and after death to judgement, I leave and bequeath my goods and chattels in manner as follows: First: I recommend my soul into the hands of God that gave it, believing I shall receive the same again by the might power of God at the day of judgement and my body to be buried in a decent Christian manner at the descretion of my executors. Imprimes: I leave and bequeath to my beloved wife Elizabeth Stutts the land and the plantation whereon I now live without---thereon containing 200 acres of land during her widowhood---every year out of my estate ten bushels of wheat and thirty bushels of Indian corn is she should need the same, one feather bed and furniture and a side saddle and chest during her lifetime. Item: I leave and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Furr five shillings current money to be paid out of my estate. Item: I leave and bequeath to my daughter Susanna Spivey five shillings current money to be paid out of my estate. Item: I leave and bequeath to my daughter Mary Furr five shillings current money to be paid out of my estate. Item: I leave and bequeath to my beloved sons Jacob Stutts, John Stutts, Christian Stutts, Leonard Stutts five shillings current money to be paid out of my estate. Item: I leave and bequeath to my son Henry Stutts the lands and plantation whereon I now live containing 200 acres after his mother’s time on this place. Item: I leave and bequeath to my daughter Catherine one feather bed and furniture, one cow and three head of sheep and as for my stock of all kinds I leave to my wife after paying my just debts during her widowhood and likewise all my household furniture. I leave to my wife during her widowhood and if she should marry again for everything to be sold and equally divided among ALL my children and my wife and I do herby disallow all other wills, legacies and bequeaths by me made heretofore acknowledging this and no other to be my last will and testament in witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this day and year as above written.
