In the name of God amen this twenty-first day of July 1798 I, Robert Boals, of the County of Moore and State of North Carolina, being very sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be to God for the same therefore calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men _______ to die do make and order this my last will and testament, that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul unto the hands of almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the Earth to be buried in ________ Christian burial at the direction of my executors nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive (?) the same by the mighty power of God and as ________ such worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give, demise (?), and dispose of the same in the following manner & form ----- First I give and bequeath unto MARY my beloved wife a bed and furniture with the other _______ _______ for house keeping which she shall possess so long as she shall live and after decease that the said property shall fall to the ________ of my son ROBERT but my will would be that she should still continue to live with my son Robert and that she should continue to hold the before mentioned property and also that she should be supported by him as long as she shall live or at least continue to live with him but at her decease that it all fall to him again. I give and bequeath unto SATAH my daughter one cow or the value thereof, and the children and the heirs of my two deceased daughters ______ MARY and ESTHER to each of these children leave the sum of one dollar. _______ I give to my son Robert Boals whom I likewise constitute, make and ordain my sole executor of this my last will and testament all and singular my cattle, goods, household stuff (?) debts, and movable (?) effects by him freely to be possessed and enjoyed and I do hereby ______ disallow, rework, and ______ all and every other former testaments, wills, legacies and bequests and _____ by me in any ______ before named willable and bequeathed ratify and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have therewith set my hand and seal the days and years above written, Signed, sealed published and promised (?) and declared by the said Robert Boals as his last will and testament in the presence of the subscribers.
