Nash County, NC - Battle Park Cemetery ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Battle Park Cemetery located in Rocky Mount on Nash Co. side. Was a part of Rocky Mount Mills, the mill workers were buried there for free. Cemetery located at Battle Park just off Falls Rd. The park was donated to the town of Rocky Mount by the Rocky Mount Mills, the cemetery is in bad shape. Some of the tombstones have been vandalized and the graves are covered with leaves and tree limbs. Fannie A. Skinner wife of John L. It says: "On this site on March 22, 1816 The first Post Office of Rocky Mt. was established James C.B. Atkinson Post Master Elected under the auspices of L.F.
