Nash County, NC - Williamson Ross Revolutionary War Pension, 1833 ~~~~~~~~~~ December 11, 1924 Lily D. Dunlap Ansonville NC Madam: I have to advise you that from the papers in the Revolutionary War pension claim S.7429 it appears that Williamson Ross was born in 1759 in Virginia. While a resident of Nash County, North Carolina, he enlisted in 1777 and served three months as private in Captain James Gray's Company, Colonel Hogan's North Carolina Regiment. He afterward enlisted, date not stated, and served six months as private in Captains Creasey's and Ned Clinch's companies, Colonel Joseph Clinch's North Carolina Regiment. He was allowed pension on his application executed January 7, 1833 at which time he was a resident of Montgomery County, North Carolina. There is no data on file relative to his family.
