The Evening Telegram, Rocky Mount, NC, February 2, 1959
Nashville -- Otho D. Coggin, 63, of Nashville, Route 3, died in Park View 
Hospital in Rocky Mount Saturday morning of a heart attack.  He was a son of 
the late J. W. Coggin and Sara West Coggin of Castalia.

Funeral services will be held at Corinth Baptist Church Monday at 2 p.m. by 
the Rev. Charles Granger, pastor, and assisted by Dr. C. B. Peacock of 
Whitakers.  Burial will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery.

Surving are his widow, the former Mary Lucille Morton of Centerville, Alabama; 
three daughters, Mrs. H. B. Hux, Hampton, VA, Mrs. Helen Griffin, Newport 
News, VA, Mrs. D. L. Vass, Richmond, VA; three sons, Wilbur J. and G. C. of 
Nashville, Bobby L. of Newport News, VA; one brother, Johnny R. Coggin of 
Nashville, Route 3; two sisters Mrs. L. C. Batchelor, Nashville, Route 2, and 
Mrs. Kattie Harris of Raleigh; and seven grandchildren.
