Strickland, Nashville, Route 3. Funeral services will be conducted from the Strickland home at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon by the Rev. Harvey Coppedge, pastor of the Cornith Baptist Church, assisted by the Rev. E.C. Sexton, pastor of the Johnson’s Tabernacle Baptist Church. Burial will be in Forest Hills cemetery at Nashville with nephews and grandsons serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Godwin was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Rocky Mount. She had been living with Mrs. Strickland for the last 12 years. Survivors include one brother, D.W. Wilder of Portsmouth, VA, one sister, Mrs. E. H. Terrant of Roseboro and three grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Additional Comments: This obituary was found in the folds of the Daniel Marshall Wilder bible. There was no source or date included, although it is known by the family that Sarah died in 1949. D.W. Wilder is actually D.M. Wilder, my great grandfather.
