In The Name of god Amen  I Benjamin Adkins of Nash County & State of North
Carolina Being Sick and Weak in Body but of sound & perfect since and Memory
Thanks be given to Almighty god for the same, Do Make Constitue and ordain
this my Last Will & Testament in Manner & form as Follows  First I give my
Soul to god That gave it and my Body to the Ground to be Buried at the
Discression of my Friends that Survive me

Item  I give and Bequeath unto My Daughter Rachel Adkins my Negro Girl Dol and
her Increase to her & her Heirs forever and the Remainder of my Estate to be
Equally Divided Between my Daughter Rachel Adkins and My Beloved Wife Penelepy
Adkins

My Desire is that my Wife Penelepy Adkins should [1or 2 words here appear
erased] have the Benefit of my Whole Estate During the time of her being my
Widow and then for my Child to have her part to her own Benefit [ink density
on "Benefit" is different, and 2 to 3 words here appear erased] at the time of
my Wifes Marriage or Death 

Lastly I anominate and appoint John Powell ["and my Wife Penelepy Adkins"
inserted above the line] to execute This my Last Will and Testament hereby
Revoking all Former Wills by me Made in Witness Whereof I have hereunto Set my
hand & Seal this 22nd of March 1789
