ELIZABETH WELLS

on each side of it)

In the Name of God, Amen, 
I Elizabeth Wells of the county of Nash and
State of North Carolina, being of sound and
perfect mind and memory, blessed be God -
do, this the 27th day of November one thousand
eight hundred and nine - 
Im. I give and bequath [bequeath] to my son Jeremiah 
Wells my sorrell colt that belongs now xtox with the 
mare -- likewise It is my will and desire xthatx for him
to have All my cattle, and hogs and sheep and corn.
Im. Its my will and desire xthatx xallx xmyx xcottonx for
All my cotton to be equally divided between my son
Jeremiah Wells and my daughter Martha Doughtridge
and I hereby make and ordain my worthy  son
Jeremiah Wells Executor of this my last will and
testament.  In witness whereof I the said Elizabeth
Wells have to this my last will and Testament
set my hand and seal, the day and year above --
Elizabeth @ (mark) Wells {seal}

Signed, sealed, published and declared by the said
Elizabeth Wells, the testator as her last will and
testament.  In the presence of us who were
present at the time of signing and sealing
thereof.
