In the Name of God Amen, I Stephen Wells Sen. of the Nash and State of North Carolina being week of Bodily Strength; but of sound mind and memory blessed be god, do this Eighteenth Day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight Hundred and {folded} ... this my last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say First, I lend to my beloved wife Elizabeth Wells my plantation where on I now live her life time also I lend her one Negro Woman named Silve, also one Negro girl named Lett also one I give and bequeath to my Son Jeremiah Wells {torn} ....I now live being ... {folded} also I give to him the afore said Negro woman Silve and Negro girl Lett and each of their increase that they shall have from this present day and date also my still to him and his Heirs for ever Item.
