Entered railway service Aug. 8, 1871, as freight clerk Wilmington & Weldon Rd, a part of the Atlantic Coast Line System, since which he has been consecutively 1873 to 1877, cashier Wilmington & Weldon and Wilmington Columbia & Augusta Rds; 1877 to 1886, through freight agent; 1886 to 1887, assistant treasurer Wilmington & Weldon, Wilmington Columbia & Augusta and Central Rds; 1887 to 1900, secretary same roads, all of which belong to the Atlantic Coast Line; April 1900 to Nov. 17, 1902, secretary and treasurer of all the roads in the Atlantic Coast Line System; Nov. 17, 1902 to date, treasurer same system.
