These papers give no indication of the parents of these two minors. It's possible they were sons of Joshua Potts (d 1820) either by wife Judith who died in 1805, age 47, or Mary Kirkwood whom he married in 1806. The 1830 census for Brunswick County, NC shows Joshua and James aged of 20-29. A deed from (R J) Robert James Potts to D O Hanlon was acknowledged 14 Dec 1829 indicating his age was 21 years or over making him born in or before 1808. Robert W. Brown, Guardian to Joshua and Robert James minors, is mentioned many times together with Joshua (d 1820) throughout the New Hanover County, NC court minutes from 1787 to 1820. ========== Joshua Potts, Minor In account with Rob.
