NORTH CAROLINA—ss. 

By His Excellency Arthur Dobbs, Esq., His Majesty’s Captain-General, Governor 
and Commander in Chief in and over said Province.

To James Buxall—Greeting:

You are hereby summoned and required personally to be and appear before the 
Governor in Council, at Wilmington, on Tuesday, the 19th instant, then and 
there to give evidence in a certain controversy there depending between Thomas 
Woodley and others on the part of the said Thomas; herein fail not, as you 
will answer to the contrary.

Given at Wilmington, the 16th day of April, in the year of our Lord 1763.

THOMAS RUTHERFORD, C. C. 

Then and there to give testimony what you and each of you may know in regard 
to the execution of the last will and testament of W. G.
