Know ye that I, Lewis HINES of the county of Hanover & State of N. Carolina for & in consideration of the Sum of One hundred pounds to me in hand paid by Christopher LAWSON of the County of Duplin & state aforesaid have bargained & sold & do by these presents bargain & sell & firmly make over unto him the said Christopher LAWSON his heirs or assigns forever a certain messuage tract or parcel of land, containing two hundred & ninety acres of land situated lying & being int he County aforesaid on the N East side of Cabbing Branch beginning at pine on the said Cabbing Branch running with the patent N 25 East 180 poles to the patent corner, a white oak, thence with the patent line again North 65 West 259 poles to the patent corner a Black Oak thence with the patent line again 25 West to the said Cabing Branch thence down as it runs tot he beginning one other messuage tract or parcel of land granted to Lewis HERRINS by patent on the North side of the North East joining his own land for two hundred acres & both side of Cabing Branch, Beginning at a Gum on Cabing Branch on his own line & running with his line North 20 East 110 poles to a red oak his corner, then as with his other line South 65 East 120 poles to Stake by the side of a meadow, thence North 25 East 50 poles to a black Jack on or near the WHITFIELD line, thence North 65 West 236 poles to a Black Jack, thence South 25 West 194 poles crossing Cabing Branch to a stake, thence to the beginning - To have and to hold the aforesaid land & premises with all the privileges & advantages to the same belonging or in anywise pertaining unto him the said Christopher LAWSON his heirs or assigns forever, warrant & forever defending the same against to all persons whatsoever laying any lawful Claim or title to the same, unto him the said Christopher LAWSON his heirs or assigns forever, In Witness whereof I the said Lewis HINES have hereunto set my hand fixed my seal this tenth day of October Anno Domini One Thousand seven hundred & ninety four.
