N, p. 10-11 Lewis HINES to William HANSLEY, both of New Hanover Co., NC - 350 acres 13 Dec 1797 This Indenture made his thirteenth day of December in the year of Our Lord One Thousand seven hundred and Ninety Seven between Lewis HINES of the State of North Carolina and County of New Hanover of the one part and William HANSLEY of the same State and County aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of One hundred pounds good and lawful money of the State to me Lewis HINES in hand paid by William HANSLEY before the unsealing of these presents the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge myself fully satisfied and paid every part and parcel thereof hath granted bargained and sold, assigned aliened enfeoffed conveyed and confirmed an day these presents doth grant bargain sell alien assign enfeoffed released convey and confirm unto him the said William HANSLEY his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land, containing three hundred and fifty acres situated lying and bing in the County of New Hanover and State aforesaid. Beginning at a pine near Frederick JONES’S lin eon the west side of Godfrey thence South 70 East 160 poles to a red bay tree on the East side of Godfrey thence South 20 West 300 poles to a Stake thence North 90 West 160 poles to a stake thence a straight line to the first station, containing three hundred and fifty acres, which land came to me Lewis hINES by Deed of Conveyance from Edmond MOORE the Patented which Patent bears date the fifth day of December 1794. Also one other messuage tract or parcel of land beginning at a pine on the said HANSLEYS back line thence through the bay North of the bare path North 45 West 127 poles ear the line of the above mentioned Moores tract thence South 45 West 63 poles to a stake thence through the bay South 45 East 127 poles to the old line - thence with said line to the Beginning containing fifty acres which land was patented by one Lewis HINES, which patent bear date the fifteenth day of December 1796, to have and to hold the said land and premises together with all the woods ways waters and water courses, with all the profits benefits and appurtenances unto the said belonging or appertaining, unto him the said William HANSLEY his heirs and assigns forever unto his or their proper use and behoof forever free and clear of all manner of encumbrances whatsoever and I the said Lewis HINES doth by these presents for myself my heirs, covenant promise and agree that the reasonable requests at the cost and charges of him the said Lewis HINES, his heirs or assigns, be the said William HANSELY will at any time hereafter make execute and acknowledge any other deed or deeds conveyance or conveyances which may be needful or pessary to more amply and fully secure the possession of the bargained premises and every part thereof with all the appurtenances unto him e said William HANSELY his heirs and assigns forever warrant and defense the above mentioned tract of three hundred and fifty acres of land and premises and every part thereof unto the said William HANSLEY his heirs and assigns forever against the claim or claims of any manner of persons whatsoever.
