Nicaner JAMES & Others to John JAMES This Indenture made the 2nd day of October in the Year of our Lord, One thousand eight hundred and nineteen between the Heirs of Isaac JAMES, deceased namely: Sarah WILLIFORD, Isaac JAMES, Nicanor JAMES, Benjamin PAGETT, Stephen LANIER, Susannah ROCHELL, Benjamin ROCHELL, Jacob JAMES, Hester JAMES, of the one part and John JAMES of the other part each of the state of North Carolina Viz: the first part Nicanor JAMES, Benj. PADGETT, Stephen LANIER of the County of Duplin & every other of each heirs of the County of New Hanover. Witnesseth that the said Heirs at will for and in consideration of the sum of two? Hundred and fifty dollars to them in hand paid hath given granted bargained sold letover and forever confirmed onto the said John JAMES his heirs and assigns one certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of New Hanover situated on the west side of Moores Creek (Patented by Lewis KIBBARO?) joining the WILLIAMS line Beginning at a Black Gum by sd. Creek, Thence running S 80? E 31 chains 64 links to a pine N 10 W 3? Chains 64 links to a pine thence W 80 E 31 chains 54 links to a pine by the creek thence down the creek to the first station containing one hundred acres as it appears by the patent be the same more or less to him the sd. John JAMES his heirs and assigns to have and to hold the above described Land and premises with all and singular the rights members? And appurtenances thereunto belonging an in any wise appurtaining They the said heirs do hereby warrant and forever defend the sd. Land and premises free and clear from the claims of us our heirs executors administrators and assigns and from and against the Lawful and Just claims of any person or persons whatsoever. Priscilla JAMES'S lifetime only exceptive? In witness whereof we the sd. Heirs have hereunto set our hands and affixed our seals day and date first written.
