V, p. 18 Land Grant to Amos ROCHELLE of New Hanover Co., NC 5 Jan 1833 State of North Carolina No. 1442 Know ye that We for and in Consideration of the Sum of Ten Dollars for every hundred Acres hereby granted, paid into our Treasury by Amos ROCHELLE have given granted paid into our Treasury by Amos ROCHELLE hath given and granted and by these presents do give and grant unto the Said Amos ROCHELLE a Tract of Land containing ninety acres lying and being in the County of New Hanover, Beginning at a forked off? on the run of Dog Branch near the mouth of Gum Branch, Jacob JAMES corner and runs thens along said JAMES line South fourteen West one hundred and sixteen poles to a Stake in Said line thence South thirty six East thirty poles to a pine thence North Sixty five East one hundred and forty poles to a pine Stump in Green? Meadow thence North thirty five West one hundred and eighty four poles to a black gum on the run of Dog Branch thence down the run of said branch to the beginning. Entered the 27th day of January 1831 as by plat hereunto annexed doth appear together with all woods, waters, mines, minerals Hereditaments and appurtenants to the said land belonging or appertances: To Hold to the said Amos ROCHELLE his heirs and assigns forever: Yielding and paying to me Such Sumsof Money yearly or otherwise as our General Assembly from time to time may direct: Provided always that the said grantee shall cause this Grant to be registered in the Registras Office of our Said County of New Hanover within twelve months from the date hereof otherwise - I am thereto -. In Testimony whereof we have Caused these our Letters to be made patent? and our Great Seal to be hereunto annexed. Witness: David L. SWAIN, Esquire, Our Governor, Captain General and Commander in Chief at Raleigh the 5th day of January in the 57th year of our Independence and in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty three.
