Hanover Co., NC.

State of North Carolina
No. 1430

Know ye That We for and in Consideration of the Sum of ten dollars for my 
hundred acres hereby granted, paid into our Treasury by Amos Rochelle, Jr. 
hath given and granted and by these presents do give and grant unto the said 
Amos ROCHELLE, Jr. a Tract of Land Containing one hundred & thirty acres 
lying and being in the County of New Hanover on the West Side of Dog Branch 
Beginning at a gum on the run of the Said Branch where the County line 
Crosses and runs thence West one hundred and forty two poles to a Stake a 
corner of SCREWS land thence with said SCREWS line and forty four poles to a 
Stake SCREWS other corner thence with SCREWS other line East? Ninety two 
poles to a stake on the said Branch thence South ten West one hundred and 
two poles to a Stake on the run of Buck horn branch thence South Ten West 
one hundred and two poles to a bay tree in a line in a line of land 
belonging to the heirs of Benjamin ROCHELLE thence with said line North 
Seventy two East one hundred and forty poles to a gum on the run of Ivy 
branch thence with the runoff said Branch to the Beginning  & entered 30th 
April 1831 & together with all woods, Waters, Mines, Minerals, 
Hereditaments, and appurtenances tot he said land belonging of or 
appertaining : To hold to the Said Amos ROCHELLE, JR. his heirs and assigns 
forever; Yielding and paying to us Such Sum of money yearly or otherwise in 
our General Assembly from time to time may direct. Provided always that the 
said grantee Shall cause this Grant to be registered in the Registers Office 
of our Said County of New Hanover within twelve months from the date hereof 
otherwise the same shall be void: In Testimony whereof we Montford STOKES, 
Esquire our Governor, Captain General and Commander in Chief at Raleigh the 
20th day of February in the 56th year of Our Independence and in the year of 
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty two.
