William A. PEARCE to Isaac ROCHELLE of New Hanover Co., NC
19 March 1857

New Hanover County
Know by all men by these presents that I, William A. PEARCE of the State & 
County aforesaid for and in consideration of the sum of Fifty Dollars to me in 
hand paid by Isaac ROCHELLE of the Stat and County aforesaid this Receipt 
whereof is hereby acknowledged have bargained sold and confirmed and by these 
presents do bargain sell convey and confirm unto the said Isaac ROCHELLE all my 
right title claim and interest in a certain tract or parcel of land formerly 
owned by John DEEL?, Dec’d lying and being in the County of New Hanover situated 
on the East side of Angola Pocosin adjoining the county line of Duplin, 
Beginning at a gum William JOHNSON’S corner, running thence with said JOHNSON’S 
line N 29 E 135 poles to a pine his corner in the County line, thence with said 
line S 86 West 240 poles to a water oak in the Great Branch, thence S 4 E 155 
poles to a stake thence to the beginning, containing of two hundred acres, be it 
the same more or less, which track or parcel of land with all the improvements 
privileges to appertenances thereunto belonging or in anywise  appertaining, I 
do warrant and defend against persons claims or demands whatsoever unto the said 
Isaac ROCHELLE his heirs and assigns forever. In testimony whereof I have 
hereunto set my hand and seal this 19th day of March in the year of our Lord 
1857.
