Sarah ROCHELL to her sister Mary ROCHELL & Rhetus SHINGLETON of New Hanover 
Co., NC
14 July 1830

To All people unto whom these presents shall come I, Sarah ROCHELLE of the 
State of North Carolina and County of New Hanover, Send Greetings. Know Ye 
that I, Sarah ROCHELL for and in Consideration of the Natural Love and 
affection which I have and bear unto my beloved Sister Mary ROCHELL and 
Rhetus SINGLETON and for divers other good causes and consideration we 
thereunto moving have given and granted and by these presents do give and 
grant unto the said Mary ROCHELLE and Rhetus SHINGLETON all and Singular my 
goods and chattels after first paying all the just debts now against me and 
my sister Mary ROCHELL, following viz, all my stock of Cattle, hogs and bees 
one mare and all my household furniture and property of every kind to have 
hold and enjoy all and singular the said Goods chattels and personal estate 
aforesaid unto the said Mary ROCHELL and Rhetus SHINGLETON their Executors 
administrators and assigns forever to be equally divided between between the 
said Mary & Rhetus, and I the said Sarah ROCHELL all and Singular the 
aforesaid goods and chattels to the said Mary & Rhetus their Administrators 
and Assigns against all persons whatsoever, shall and will warrant and 
forever defend by these presents in witness whereof I the said Sarah ROCHELL 
have hereunto set my hand and Seal this 14th day of July in the year of our 
Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and thirty.
