Jacob ROCHELLE to Hester PICKETT both of New Hanover Co., NC 
(correction of deed)
7 Sept. 1843

State of North Carolina
Know all men by these presents that I, Jacob ROCHELLE of the County 
of New Hanover & State aforesaid did bargain sell and convey unto 
Hester PICKETT & her heirs forever on the Seventh Day of September 
One Thousand eight Hundred and forty three for certain tracts or 
parcels of land, situate in the County of New Hanover on the East 
side of the North East River in and adjoining the Angola Swamp and 
adjoining the land formerly owned by Wm. PICKETT, Dec'd., Jacob 
JAMES, Dec'd, for the sum of four hundred and fifty dollars to me 
in hand paid by her in writing the dded I executed to her for said 
four pieces or tracts of land the words and her heirs to forever 
were omitted, the deed reads as follows and by these presents do 
bargain sell convey and confirm unto the said Hester PICKETT four 
certain tracts or parcels of land and should have been written by 
these presents do bargain, sell convey and confirm unto the said 
Hester PICKETT her heirs and assigns to four certain tracts or 
parcels of land to convey the title in said lands that I intended 
in said deed, which deed is dated on the 7th day of Sept. 1843 and 
proven at December Term of the Court 1843 and Registered 20 Dec 
1843 in Book AA page 139. Now know all persons by these presents 
that I, Jacob ROCHELLE for and in consideration of the said sum 
of four hundred and fifty dollars to me in hand paid by the said 
Hester PICKETT do bargain, sell, convey and confirm unto the said 
Hester PICKETT her heirs & forever free from me my heirs or the 
just and lawful claim or claims of all other persons whatever. 
In testimony whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal the 11th day 
of June A.D. 1864.
