Isaac Rochelle to Jacob Rochelle, both of New Hanover Co., NC
15 April 1842

New Hanover County

Know ye all men by these presents that I, Isaac ROCHELLE of the State and 
County aforesaid for and in consideration of the sum of twenty dollars to me 
in hand paid by Jacob ROCHELLE of the State and County aforesaid the receipt 
where of is hereby acknowledged have bargained sold and conveyed and by 
these presents do bargain sell convey and confirm unto the sd. Jacob 
ROCHELLE a certain tract or parcel of land situated in sd. county on the 
east side of the North East River beginning at a forked cypress on the run 
of Dog Branch near the mouth of Green Branch, Jacob JAMES' corner and runs 
thence along said JAMES' line N 14º W 116 poles to a stake in said line, S 
36º E 30 poles to a pine, thence N 65º 140 poles to a pine stump in a 
meadow, thence N 35º W 184 poles to a Black Gum on the sum of Dog Branch, 
thence down the sum of said branch to the beginning containing ninety eight 
acres more or less, which tract or parcel of land with the improvements 
privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging I do hereby warrant and 
defend against all persons claims or demands whatever unto the sd. Jacob 
ROCHELLE his heirs and assigns forever. In testimony whereof I have hereunto 
set my hand and seal this 15th day of April 1842.
