WRIGHT of Wilmington, New Hanover Co., NC State of North Carolina County of New Hanover This Indenture made and executed this the eighty day of May A.D. 1848 between Isaac ROCHELLE and his wife Sabry ROCHELLE formerly Sabra PAGET, Amos ROCHELLE and his wife Sarah ROCHELLE formerly Sarah LANIER, Jesse T. WOOD and his wife Nancy WOOD formerly Nancy LANIER and John BATTS and his wife Anna BATTS formerly Anna ROCHELLE all of the county of New Hanover aforesaid and Riley JONES and his wife Mary JONES formerly Mary ROCHELLE and Bryan MAREDY and his wife Catherine MAREDY formerly Catherine PAGET of the county of Duplin at the State aforesaid parties of the first part and William A. WRIGHT of the town of Wilmington in the county of New Hanover aforesaid of the second part, Witnessed that the said parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars to them in hand paid by the said party of the second part at and before the sealing and delivery of the presents the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged have given granted bargained and sold and by these presents do give grant bargain and sell assign and convey unto the said party of the second part his heirs executors administrators and assigns all and singular the right title interest to the estate claim and demand which the said parties of the first part have or are entitled to in the different - its or parcels of land of which the late Jacob JAMES of the County of New Hanover aforesaid died seised and possessed and all monies or bonds for the payment of money now in the hands of Thomas D. MEANES, Esq., Clerk and Master in Equity for the county of New Hanover, the proceeds desired forms he sale of the real estate of said Jacob JAMES made by said Thomas D. MEANES as Clerk and Master aforesaid by virtue of a decree of said County of Equity made upon the petition of said parties of the first part and others as heirs at law aforesaid of Jacob JAMES and tenants in common of the real estate of which he died seised and possessed praying for a sale and division of the same. To have and to hold the before refined to lands or the money arising from the sale of the same unto the said party of the second part his heirs executors administrator and assigns to his and their only proper use and behoof forever. In Testimony whereof the said parties of the first part have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first herein before written. WOOD and his wife Nancy T. WOOD, Bryant MAREDDY and his wife Catherine MAREDDY, John BATTS and his wife Anna BATTS, Riley JONES and his wife Mary JONES the bargainers in the forgoing deed who severally acknowledged the due execution thereof and the said Sabry ROCHELL, Sarah ROCHELL, Nancy T. WOOD, Catherine MAREDDY, Anna BATTS, and Mary JONES being thereupon by us privily examined separate and apart from their respective testaments? severally acknowledged that they executed said deed freely and voluntarily without the fear of or compulsion on the part of their and that they do now voluntarily a-- thereto Let said deed together with this certificate to be registered.
