The fire originated from a spark from the chimney. The alarm did not spread beyond the immediate neighborhood. Additional Comments: Stephen Henderson Morton's home was a 720 N. 4th Street in Wilmington, NC. This was in the Brooklyn Neighborhood. At the time of this incident, his family would have consisted of his wife, Mary "Carrie" Wilder, and seven year old son, George Lee.
