Wilder & Co., are putting up substantial works in the upper part of town for their distillery, etc., which are quite an improvement on the ordinary works through the country. – These gentlemen are getting ready of business. Additional Comments: Jesse Wilder and his wife Fannie moved to the Brunswick, GA area from Wilmington, NC. He started a turpentine distillery, as he had after returning from the Civil War, in Wilmington. A few years after the death of his wife he would return to Wilmington and continue in the turpentine trade until shortly before his death in 1914.
