Feb. 4, 1801 February 4, 18j02 On Saturday last, the sloop, "Victory," CAPT. BUCKEY from Guadaloupe, loaded with Rum, Sugar and Coffee, consigned to MR. JOHN BARCLAY of Wilmington, was cast away on New Inlet Bar. The vessel soon after went to pieces, and but 12 Hogsheads of Rum of the whole cargo saved. Except the Captain and Mate, every person on board perished: amongst whom was MR. HENRY HOSKINS, whose body was picked up and brought to Wilmington and interred in the Churchyard on Tuesday. MR. HOSKINS was a native of Wilmington, and although but 21 years of age, by his explemplary conduct had gained the affections of all who knew him.
