All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Carolyn Shank Carolynshank@msn.com July 31, 2008, 12:17 pm Hall's Wilmington Gazette March 7, 1799 The Subscribers give notice that the sum of $234.62, being a collection made by the Ancient York Masons in the State of South Carolina, for the poor and distressed sufferers by the late Fires in this town [Wilmington], has been remitted to them for the purpose of being distributed amongst those who are in the greatest distresses from the losses sustained on those occasions. They, therefore, request that such persons as conceive they have claims to the benefit of said collection, will signify the same to them on Monday next, the 11th inst., on which day they will meet together at the Court-House for the purpose of receiving such claims and distributing the shares of the above donation. They request also of the inhabitants of the town, generally, to inform them who of the sufferers should be preferably entitled to a distributive share of the same. BENJAMIN SMITH GRIFFITH J.
