mrs ruby watkins carter of 5124 blue clay rd, castle hayne nc. died tuesday 
november 12-1996 in  new hanover regional medical center. she was born july-25-
1921, daughter of the late david james and alice boone watkins jr.she was also 
proceeded in death by her husband c.c.carter jr and a son jw garner.mrs carter 
was a member of the castle hayne baptist church. surving are four children, 
shirley sanderson, alice mitchell, frances faye bonham and her husband lv 
bonham, and robert lee garner and wife betty ; three stepchildren;w.c. carter 
and wife ann, gerald carter and wife lily and joanna carter vernon; stepsister 
mae smith of reidesville nc; eightgrandchildren; kenneth williams and wife 
debbie raymond williams,karen terrel; larry bonham calvin mitchell jr and wife 
colleen, shelby jean mitchell, sherri mitchell and cindy staufer and husband 
bobby, fivestepgrandchildren; jimmy vernon, walter carter, nick carter, wayne 
carter,teresa hart. and many greatgrandchildren. funeral services will be 
conducted at 11am thursday november 14- 1996 in andrews mortuary valley chappel 
4108 south college rd by rev billy fowler and rev stacy wells. internment will 
in riverview memorial park wallace nc.pallbearers will be;ray william, billy  
barret,walter carter, calvin mitchell jr,matthew mitchell, larry bonham. 
memorials mad be mad to the  american cancer sociaety.
