Wilmington, Aug 23 - Mrs. Katherine Derosset Mears at one time president of 
the North Carolina Dames and a great charity worker, died at her home here 
early this morning at the age of 85. She was the wife of the late Col. Gaton 
Mears, who served with distinction in the Mexican and Civil Wars.
