George Lee Morton Jr., 70, of 825 Starlight Drive, North East, Atlanta, Ga., died Thursday in Atlanta after a sudden illness. Mr. Morton is survived by one sister, Mrs. Eliza M. Woodward of Miami Beach; one nephew, George M. Woodward of Miami Beach; two nieces, Mrs. John Logan of Louisiana, Mo., and Mrs.. Robert Sedlak of San Bernardino, Calif.; and two cousins, Mrs. William Fortune of Roanoke, Va., and Mrs. Ann Thompson of Los Angeles. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 10 a.m. in Atlanta from Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church. Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in Wilmington, at the Bellevue Cemetery with Father Albert Tittinger officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the American Red Cross. An Andrews Mortuary Service. Additional Comments: George Lee Morton's father, Col. Morton, was a prominent Wilmingtonian who had relocated, in 1910, to the Atlanta, GA area due to his business. Col. Morton died in October of 1930. George Lee Morton's mother, Mildred Gracey Thompson Morton, died in March of 1963. George Lee Morton, Jr. was the grandson of Stephen H. Morton (originally of Onslow County, then Wilmington, NC).
