Tues. Sept. 25, 1804, Wilmington Gazette

    DIED, on Tuesday, the 18th inst., in the 26th year of his age, MR. ALLEN 
APPOWEN, of  Wilmington. He lived respected by all who knew him, and died with 
their regret; leaving a widow to mourn her irreparable loss in death. – His 
remains were attended to the grave by the Artillery Company, under the command 
of LIEUTENANT JAMES RICHARD, the brethren of St. Tammany and St. John’s Lodge, 
and a numerous train of friends and fellow citizens.
