Additional Comments: Abram Wilder (b.14 Jan 1813) married Eliza Parker 15 Feb 1849 (according to New Hanover County NC Record of Marriage Licenses 1843-1863). Stephen H. Morton was the second husband of Mary Caroline Wilder (Whitehurst), the daughter of Abram, and came with his family about 1871 to the Wilmington area from Onslow County. S. H. Morton went into business with Jesse Wilder. Abram's son, Jesse became a prominent businessman in Wilmington in the turpentine, naval stores trade. Abram, a cooper by trade, worked with his son for a while, the business being located on Nutt Street. Jesse and his wife, Fannie D.(Ellis) had moved to Brunswick, GA sometime before 1880, where he was also involved in the turpentine trade. During his father's illness, Jesse returned several times to Wilmington. Fannie Wilder died in 1882.
