Land Grant to Isaac HINES
19 Nov. 1833

State of North Carolina
Know ye that we for & in Consideration of the Sum of Ten dollars for every 
hundred acres Granted paid into our Treasury by Isaac HINES hath given & granted 
& by these presents do give & grant into the said Isaac HINES a tract of land 
containing fifty acres lying & being in the County of New Hanover on the back 
line of Moasely Hall land beginning at a by tree by a bay pocosin & runs thence 
N 74 East 13 poles to a pine thence N 15 S 98 poles to a pine thence S 77 W 94 
poles to a pine thence S 9 West 60 poles to a pine near a bay thence by & with 
Sd. bay to the beginning Ent’d the 10th of Dec 1831? as by the plat hereunto 
annexed doth appear together with all woods waters mines minerals hereditaments 
& appurtenances to the Sd. land belonging or appertaining to hold to the Isaac 
HINES his heirs & assigns forever yielding & paying to us such sums of money, 
yearly or otherwise as our General Assembly from time to time may direct 
provided always always that the Granted shall cause this grant to be registered 
in the Registers Office of our sd. County of New Hanover within twelve months 
from the date hereof otherwise the same shall be void. In Testimony whereof we 
have caused these our Letters to be made Patent & our Great Seal to be hereunto 
affixed. 
Witness: David L. SWAIN, Esqr. Our Governor Gen’l. Captain & Commander in Chief 
at Raleigh the 19th day of Nov in the 58 year of our Independence & in the year 
of Our Lord 1833.
