Mary & Sarah ROCHELLE of New Hanover Co., NC to Bryant WOOTEN of New Hanover 
Co., NC
11 October 1826

This Indenture made this 11th day of October in the year of our Lord one 
thousand eight hundred & twenty six between Mary ROCHELLE & Sarah ROCHELLE 
of the State of North Carolina and County of New Hanover of the one part and 
Bryant WOOTEN of the same State & County of the other part witnesseth that 
the said Mary ROCHELLE & Sarah ROCHELLE for & in consideration of the sum of 
twenty five dollars to them in hand paid in the receipt where of is hereby 
acknowledged doth even granted bargain & sold set over and forever confirmed 
unto the said Bryant WOOTEN his heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel 
of land lying & being in the County of New Hanover on both sides of Holley 
Shelter Creek hereon the said Mary & Sarah ROCHELLE now lives contains two 
hundred acres to herein the said Bryant WOOTEN his heirs and assigns to have 
& to hold the above described land and premises with all and singular the 
right members? & appurtenances hereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining 
and we the said Mary ROCHELLE & Sarah ROCHELLE do hereby warrant and forever 
defend the sd. land and premises to him the said Bryant WOOTEN his heirs & 
assigns free and clear from any claim of us our heirs executors, admires. 
and assigns and from a nd against the lawful or just claims of any persons 
or persons whatsoever in witness whereof we the said Mary ROCHELLE and Sarah 
ROCHELLE have unto set our hands & seal the day and date first written, 
signed, sealed & delivered in the presence of:
