William FARIS of New Hanover Co., NC to John HINDS, son of Walter HINDS of 
Martin Tomb, Kingdom of Ireland - 460 Acres
25 March 1750

North Carolina
New Hanover County
Know all men by these Presents that I, William FARIS of the aforesaid place and 
Province, Esqr. for and in Consideration of the Love and Affection I bear unto 
John HINDS, son of Walter HINDS of Martin Tomb near Cavin in the Kingdom of 
Ireland, Have Given Granted Conveyed Confirmed and Set over and by these 
Presents do fully freely and Absolutely Give Grant Convey Confirm Assign and Set 
over unto the said John HINDS a Piece of Land containing Four Hundred and Sixty 
Acres and is part of a piece of Land whereon Clifton BOWAN now lives called Tarr 
Field and granted me by Patent situate lying and being in Duplin County 
Beginning at a Red Oak a Corner of the Patent thence along the Patent line S 80 
Chains to a Pine thence East 80 Chains to a Pine thence N 47 Chains to a Stake 
thence West 45 Chains to a Pine thence N 15 Degrees W 32 Chains to a Pine near 
Faris Branch in the Patent line thence along said line to the first station. To 
have and to hold the aforesaid piece of land lying and being as aforesaid in 
Duplin County containing Four Hundred and Sixty Acres as aforesaid be the same 
more or less together with all the appurtenances thereon belonging unto the said 
John HINDS his heirs and assigns forever. And I the said William FARIS for 
myself my heirs, Exectrs. Admrs and Assigns Covenant promise and agree to and 
with the said HINDS that I will warrant and forever defend the Prebargained 
Premises unto the said John HINDS his heirs Exectrs. Admrs or assigns against 
all manner of Person or Persons laying any manner of Claim thereto from by or 
under me.
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this 25th day of March 
One Thousand Seven hundred and fifty.
